1/3 Alison Giese could be heard in the background, undertaking a kitchen project that involved pots, pans and dishes. Her husband, Ed, was on the phone. A police officer was in front of the house, guarding the back entrance to the John E. du Pont estate in Newtown Square, Pa.
"Our house is about as far from the mansion as you can get and still be on the grounds," Ed Giese said. "The only visual evidence we have [that] there is something unusual happening is the police cars coming in and out of the back gate."
