COMPAQ COMPUTER CORPORATION ANNOUNCES SWISS SUBSIDIARY

HOUSTON, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today announced it will market the full line of COMPAQ(R) personal computers in Switzerland through its new wholly-owned subsidiary, COMPAQ Computer AG of Glattbrugg.

COMPAQ personal computers are sold in Switzerland by more than 40 Authorized COMPAQ Computer Dealers who have previously been supported in product shipments, sales and service by COMPAQ Computer GmbH, the company's European headquarters in Munich, West Germany.
