The folks who make Breathe Right have called, offering it as a solution for Sam Jacobson's problems.
"I wish it was that simple," Jacobson said.
Jacobson's sophomore season with the Gophers has been disturbed by illness, injury, but mostly a perplexing lack of stamina that has him searching for medical answers that will, literally, enable him to breathe easier.
He tried Breathe Right and abandoned them after they didn't help. He has undergone test after test for allergies, and discovered he is susceptible to molds and yeasts. He is planning on postseason surgery to correct a deviated septum that has blocked his left nostril for years.
