The accolades for Keith Van Horn border on frightening. Fresno State coach Jerry Tarkanian calls the Utah forward one of the five best players in the country. Brigham Young coach Roger Reid suggests Van Horn has "a Larry Bird-type repertoire." New Mexico's Greg Schornstein, when asked whether he had ever played any big man with such a versatile game, said, "Glenn Robinson."
Hyperbole? Well, considering we are talking Western Athletic Conference basketball, one suspects there might be just a little. Yet there seems to be little question that Van Horn is one of the best players in the country that most don't even know.
