The Local Community Arts League, which last year organized several successful tours of the blockbuster Monet show at the Art Institute of Chicago, is planning a five-day trip, August 7-11, to New York and Philadelphia to take in the Winslow Homer retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Paul Cezanne show at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The Homer show (June 20 through Sept. 22) will be the first comprehensive exhibition of the American painter's work in about 20 years, including his Civil War reportage and his incisive rural genre scenes and luminous seascapes.
