Preservationists can put down their battle flags.
The little "Egyptian building" on Marquette Av., the only building in Minneapolis that looks like an ancient Egyptian tomb, is not going to be demolished. Plans to tear down three buildings on Marquette Av. for a 500-car parking ramp have been revised to keep intact the two-story Egyptian facade.
The new plans will be taken to the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission meeting at 5 p.m. today at City Hall.
