During his convalescence, Twins star Kirby Puckett has received dozens of letters intended to help him overcome the glaucoma that has blurred the vision in his right eye - including samples of braille.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Detroit Tigers pitching staff did what it could to encourage Puckett's swift return, offering pitches he could have hit blindfolded, and a score so large he could read it with either eye - or hand.
The Twins' 24-11 victory over Detroit, before 12,189 at Tiger Stadium, produced team records, individual milestones and an upset stomach for the winning manager.
Never in the Tigers' 95-year existence had their players given up as many runs. ...
