In the NFL, ankles are treated harshly. They get twisted. Fallen on by 300-pound behemoths. Stretched by sudden cuts.
The success of the Vikings offense this season hinges in part on the performance of three key players who have had recent ankle trouble.
Running back Robert Smith missed seven games last season with an ankle sprain. Placekicker Fuad Reveiz and tight end Anthony Jordan each have had ankle surgery this year - Reveiz in January, Jordan last month.
At minicamp this weekend in Eden Prairie, Smith looks and says he's fit and ready at a solid 212 pounds.
