A special guest stopped by Dream Team III's practice session the other day: Bishop Desmond Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize winner and retired archbishop of the Anglican Church in South Africa. Players who normally are begged to sign autographs and pose for photographs became the beggars.
"Just going to the Opening Ceremonies and a having a chance to meet Mr. Tutu makes this experience worthwhile," said Sir Charles Barkley.
By the next night, shortly after dispatching Lithuania, Dream Team III players already had forgotten Bishop Tutu's eternal message of peace and harmony. Dream Team III got a little surly.
