Dance, most of it a good distance from the mainstream, makes up the core of this year's planet Ordway season, the Ordway Music Theatre's multicultural series sponsored by Target Stores.
The series, announced this week, opens with a bang Sept. 8 with Jam on the Groove, a New York hip-hop troupe that played about 100 performances off-Broadway before hitting the road. Created by GhettOriginal Productions, "Jam on the Groove" is a jiving journey through the world of hip-hop including art, theater, music and, especially, dance.
