The idea of a mainstream comedy about drag queens sounds about as likely as "Striptease II" - until you throw Robin Williams into the equation.
The breathless actor has been on an incredible roll lately, scoring major points at the box office even with mediocre material ("Jumanji," "Jack"). So equipped with a decent script and a glorious supporting cast, it was little surprise that "The Birdcage" was a big hit, even if Williams has the "straight" role.
