Monday was a special day to honor America's veterans, but it was extra special for Minnesotans who served in the Korean War - the war that long has been ignored by those who create memorials to the fallen.
The 700 Minnesotans who died in Korea more than four decades ago and the 154 still listed as missing in action now are going to have their own memorial on the grounds of the State Capitol.
Maj. Gen. Eugene Andreotti of the state's Military Affairs Department talked about the "forgotten war" as artists' drawings of the memorial were revealed Monday during a Veterans Day ceremony at the Landmark Center in St. Paul.
