What we've got here, fellow enterprise worshipers, is a classic example of good, old-fashioned American get-up-and-go.
Except that the star of the saga is an East Indian who arrived here in 1964 with $800 in his pocket and the aim of earning a master's degree in industrial engineering at the University of Minnesota.
"I thought I'd work three years or so to pay off my [school] debts and gain some practical experience, then go back to India," said Mahendra Nath, 56.
But once he'd grasped the magnitude of the opportunities this country had to offer, Nath hung around to become a sizable investor in Twin Cities area real estate.
