Alpine Industries, a Blaine-based business that makes air purification devices it sells through multilevel distributorships, plans to move its headquarters to Greeneville, Tenn., the company announced Tuesday. Alpine also plans to build a manufacturing plant in Greeneville to handle its rapidly expanding business, although it will keep its plant in Eveleth, Minn., company officials said.
The news brought much rejoicing in Greeneville, where Tennessee Gov. Don Sundquist and local officials gathered Tuesday morning to welcome Alpine and its promise of more than 1,000 jobs within 15 months. Alpine founder Bill Converse told local officials that the new facility, ...
