Article: Agrarian Reform Month declared.(Main News)

President Estrada has issued Proclamation No. 263 declaring June of each year as ''Agrarian Reform Month.'' He said this was to emphasize the vital importance of Republic Act No. 6657, the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law (CARL), in national development.

The proclamation, which Estrada signed last April 7, amends Proclamation No. 263 issued on May 21, 1993, which set aside June 9-15 as "Agrarian Reform Week." June 15, 1998, was the day CARL took effect.

In extending the celebration of the passage of CARL to one month, the President said he wanted to give the various groups in the comprehensive agrarian reform program ...
