Immtech International Inc. announced recently that its oral drug to combat deadly African sleeping sickness, DB-289, performed well in animal studies.
Tests performed by researchers at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, indicate that three to four doses of DB-289 eliminated the trypanosome parasite from blood circulation. A World Health Organization laboratory in Switzerland confirmed these findings.
