As president and CEO of Hughes Space and Communications Co. [GMH], Tig Krekel leads the world's largest manufacturer of commercial communications satellites. Hughes Space also is a provider of space systems, satellites and payloads for national defense, science and environmental applications. The company is so valuable that The Boeing Co. [BA] announced in January it would buy Hughes for $3.75 billion in an all-cash offer. The deal is expected to close later this year.
