The mission capable (MC) rate for Air Combat Command's operational fighters has increased since a sharp drop in 1997, but the rate is still a concern as the Air Force moves parts work to the service's remaining depots.

"We had a readiness problem. The political and funding process dealt with it. We have to be patient.
