The mission capable (MC) rate for Air Combat Command's operational fighters has increased since a sharp drop in 1997, but the rate is still a concern as the Air Force moves parts work to the service's remaining depots.
"We had a readiness problem. The political and funding process dealt with it. We have to be patient. We'll come back, but we haven't fully come back," Ed Merry, the chief of the logistics assessment division at Air Combat Command (ACC) at Langley AFB, Va., told Defense Daily in a telephone interview last week.
