Jun. 15--NORFOLK, Va.--Lemuel E. Lewis, a 19-year veteran executive with Landmark Communications Inc., has been appointed chief financial officer and executive vice president.
Landmark owns The Virginian-Pilot, The Weather Channel and a host of other media properties ranging from newspapers and television stations to guide books and electronic publishing. Its 1999 revenues exceed $700 million, and it employs more than 5,000 people in 20 states, Latin America and Europe. The company is privately held by the family of Frank Batten Sr. and corporate executives.
