Jun. 16--Roberta Katz is stepping down as head of Technology Network, a high-powered lobbying organization set up by leading Silicon Valley tech companies to help them achieve their legislative agenda in Washington.
Katz, former general counsel of Netscape Communications Corp., will lead a Bay Area start-up that she would only describe as having to do with "the legal space."
Her departure comes just 13 months after TechNet's board chose her for the post from about 100 applicants. Katz said she will remain at the bipartisan organization, based in Palo Alto, until a successor is named.
