The nation commemorates today the 139th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the man who fought for peace and freedom for millions of Filipinos with the power of the pen.
It's a special non-working holiday today in Calamba and Laguna province, Rizal's birthplace.
The Knights of the Grand of Rizal (KGOR) led by Rogelio Quiambao will lead special rites honoring the national hero at his birthplace in Calamba, Laguna and the Rizal Shrine in Rizal Park, Manila.
