COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The phosphate ban proposed in H.B. 491 will cost consumers millions, but will not improve water quality in Lake Erie, opponents will tell a state senate committee tomorrow.
Robert T. Smith, an executive with FMC Corp. (NYSE: FMC) describes the bill as an "expensive symbolic gesture" which will cost northern Ohio families an additional $20 million annually in increased laundry bills.
