Each morning, five to seven million children wake up in a wet bed because of primary nocturnal enuresis, i.e., nighttime bedwetting. Because of the intense embarrassment and inconvenience associated with this behavior, many parents are highly motivated to seek help for the problem by consulting with counselors and other practitioners. This article provides the counselor background information and treatment approaches to effectively help such children and parents.
