Jun. 16--First Union Bank has turned its Martinez-area office into a branch targeting its small business customers.
The banking center at 3725 Washington Road will continue serving consumer customers but will focus on providing products and services such as workers compensation insurance, leasing and cash management for both fledgling and mature small businesses.
"The small business segment is extremely important to First Union," said Charlie Rivers, First Union's Augusta market president.
