A Real Estate Investment Company (REIC) system, to be introduced next year, is expected to boost the capital market and offer more opportunities for small investors to dabble in real estate.
REICs are incorporated companies, not trusts like the real estate investment trusts (REITs) in the United States.
They will issue shares or bonds at values accessible to average citizens.
Raised funds will be invested in real estate or related securities, with profits returned in the form of dividends.
The Ministry of Construction and Transportation recently released research results from an REIC introduction study.
