Seoul plans to introduce an alternate-day driving scheme for passenger cars during the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in October to ease traffic jams.
``We are planning to enforce the system in order to tackle feared traffic congestion during the meeting of Asian and European leaders,'' said a city official.
If the alternate-day driving plan is adopted, owners of passenger cars will only be allowed to drive their vehicle every other day.
At the same time, the metropolitan government is moving to allow workers to go to work at different hours to ease traffic jams during morning rush hours.
