Lee Hoi-chang, leader of the main opposition Grand National Party and who is now regarded as an undisputed favorite in the next presidential election, has declined to wear a crown.
Lee, a descendant of the royal Yi family of the Choson Kingdom, has been invited to wear a royal crown and offer a cup of wine to the altar of the kings from the Choson dynasty in a reenactment of the ancient ritual called``Chongmyojerye'' at Chongmyo, downtown Seoul, tomorrow.
But Lee declined the offer, with his aides saying that he does not want to invite ``unwanted speculation,'' which in other words means that he wants to avoid giving the wrong impression that he is ...
