IN HONG KONG'S SECURITIES MARKETINES DEVELOPMENTS
NEW YORK, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Fell, chief executive of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, outlined today the measures being taken to maintain international confidence in Hong Kong's securities market.
Fell noted that the Wall Street collapse of October 1987, which triggered the collapse and temporary closure of the Hong Kong market, had not had any significant effect on Hong Kong's economic growth or on its development as a major international financial center.
