COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. _ On a weekend when the Colorado Avalanche put together its future, the team paid tribute to its recent past.
In the past five years, the Avs become the envy of the NHL by drafting, developing and flaunting sensational skaters and skill players. Even though critics insist that Colorado needs more size, more strength, more rogues on its roster, the Avs are still taking the route that got them here.
