Issue: The insured had about 20 compact discs in his car. When the car was parked at the parking lot of a local shopping mall, the compact discs were stolen. Is there coverage under the insured's HO 00 03 0491 for the compact discs?
Analysis: Under the HO 0003 04 91, there are a number of provisions that may be relevant when analyzing coverage for a theft of compact discs, cassettes or other media for use with any electronic apparatus, when these items are located in a motor vehicle. As we interpret the policy; coverage for such items will turn on what type of electronic apparatus is located in the motor vehicle for playing the compact discs or cassettes.
