As the second largest market for U.S. agricultural products, you would think the Canadian market might well be saturated. Far from it. Canada, and western Canada [1] in particular, is still a growing market that holds plenty of opportunity for enterprising U.S. exporters who take the time to learn the nuances and niches it offers.
U.S. agricultural exports to Canada were $6.9 billion [2] in fiscal year 1999, down slightly from the record high of $7 billion a year earlier, but still the second highest level on record.
