Insiders report that Texas Gov. George W. Bush may announce during the Republican convention, or at least before Election Day, some, if not all, of his choices for the Cabinet if he becomes president.
The theory is that surfacing in advance an impressive roster of experienced dignitaries destined to be at Bush's side would bolster his own shaky credentials as a leader of substance. The message? Electing Bush is picking a team and not just a man of suspected intellectual limitations.
The notion that such an announcement would be helpful is pure bunkum. Not only would it be premature; it would be politically and psychologically wrong.
