JAKARTA, June 28 Asia Pulse - Indonesia still needs the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bring about a positive market sentiment in the country, an economic observer said here Tuesday.
"The IMF has become a benchmark to investors and foreign operators. Although the IMF does not disburse huge amounts of money, its presence (in Indonesia) will bring about positive market sentiment in the country," economist Toni Prasetiantono told a seminar on the future of Indonesia.
He said actually Indonesia no longer needs financial aid from the IMF as its balance of payment has improved.
