Higher Ed Offers K-12 Distance Learning Lessons: Give Training, Tech Support.

Professional development for teachers and readily available technical support are keys to successful distance learning programs, a survey by the National Education Association (NEA) finds.

The poll, which queried 402 distance learning faculty at institutions of higher education, offers some lessons for elementary and secondary schools on what works best in distance education programs.

According to the survey, released June 14, Web-based distance learning is the most popular form. Faculty who were provided training and technical support felt the most positive about distance education.
