Wild general manager Doug Risebrough and coach Jacques Lemaire were teammates for five seasons with the Montreal Canadiens; Risebrough's first five years in the NHL and Lemaire's last five.
1974-75
- Risebrough, a 20-year-old rookie, joined Lemaire, who was 10 years older and a seven-year veteran; both played center. The Canadiens, who had won the Stanley Cup two years earlier, lost to Buffalo in the 1975 semifinals. Risebrough had 47 points during the season, Lemaire 92. The tone was set for the future; the Canadiens finished first in their division, which they would do for the next six years.
