'We'd try anything to save our post offices'
POST office staff and customers in Coventry gave a cautious thumbs- up to a rescue package announced by the government.
It is hoped the move to make post offices into financial service providers will help secure the future of the country's 118,500 branches.
The government is to pour millions of pounds into the scheme, which will see post offices joining forces with major High Street banks to become universal banks.
