Retention has, by far, been of the biggest issues the U.S. Navy has faced over the last several years.
Since the Navy started its "Revolution of Business Affairs" - Under the leadership of Under Secretary of the Navy Jerry Hultin - naval leaders have looked to industry to help them not only save time and money but also to keep employees.
One such case in the NAPI program, which stands for Naval Aviator Production Process Improvement. The program accelerates the time it takes Navy aviators to go through training. While pilots receive the same amount of training, NAPI prevents them from having to wait to be sent to a squadron.
