ASSISTANT Chief Constable Paul Blewitt announced on the Ed Doolan show that the police are to withdraw their services from certain events - fun runs, street carnivals and similar.
He wants 'bobbies' on the beat to fight crime. On such occasions he says they are acting simply as stewards. Are they?
