Across the NHL, checkbooks are opening while players and their agents are drooling. Today kicks off the annual shopping spree known as free agency.

But while free-spending teams such as the Rangers, Flyers and Maple Leafs are dipping into their bottomless bank accounts, the Wild will do a little browsing, but probably not much buying.

"I don't expect to be too active," Wild general manager Doug Risebrough said. "I don't think there are any significant players for us to go after.
