SEATTLE _ What makes Nada Shaath's class at the Islamic School of Seattle unusual isn't just that the lessons are entirely in Arabic. The class is unique in the United States, and perhaps in the world, because it combines Montessori, a nontraditional teaching method that lets children learn at their own pace, with total immersion in Arabic as a second language.
