It's an industry that needs employees, one built on natural beauty, one that serves people in happy moods. And it's one with an important center in San Diego.
But no, it's not tourism.
It's the gem and jewelry industry, which comes together Friday, June 9, for a career fair on the Carlsbad campus of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Jewelry Career Fair 2000 visitors that day will include industry recruiters.
