In attempting to ban partial-birth abortions, state lawmakers should have relied on medical and legal experts instead of anti-abortion ideologues. Wednesday's U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down bans on partial-birth abortion in Wisconsin and 28 other states should teach the state Legislature a lesson:
Don't let special-interest groups write laws. Turn to experts instead.
