During a recent question-and-answer session with students at UCLA, director Woody Allen was asked if he planned to record commentary tracks or otherwise enhance DVD releases of his films.
"I make the film; this is the film; that's the end of it," Allen replied, according to the Associated Press. "If you like it, you like it. If you don't like it, you don't. I've never thought of supplementing it with anything."
It should come as no surprise, then, that the landmark release of eight of Allen's classic films on DVD - scheduled for Wednesday as The Woody Allen Collection (MGM, $134.98) - comes with minimal extras, just a trailer and a brief but informative booklet for ...
