It was a tough week for Northeastern High School's boys' basketball team. The Eagles started out tied for first in the Big East Conference. By Saturday night, Northeastern had dropped to fourth place thanks to a 48-46 loss to Rocky Mount.
With two games left to play, the Eagles are hanging on to the final 4A playoff spot in the conference. Because the standings are so close, wins over Greenville Rose and D.H. Conley this week could put Northeastern back in the hunt for second place.
