Two city councilmen believe that the city can cut the mosquito-control tax rate and save residents $50 to $100 annually without hurting services.
But the rest of the council wants to wait until an independent management study is finished before reducing taxes.
And at least one mosquito control commissioner said the tax cut proposal would be almost a ``death knell'' for mosquito control services.
