WITH A NOD to the popular Gershwin tune, you say CLE-mat-is, I say
Cle-MAT-is . . . however you pronounce it, this old-fashioned, flowering vine is making a comeback.
Clematis is hard to beat for spectacular blooms on a climbing plant. The problem is that it's sometimes difficult to grow. Patience is required. At least three years are needed to get it going.
Once established, it can become one of the most beautiful plants in your garden, blooming more every season.
