This letter is regarding the Feb. 13 Beacon article titled ``Growing Old Dominion Wants a Piece of Complex.'' Much of the information in that article was either incomplete or misleading.
The Hampton Roads Soccer Council, a non-profit, charitable organization created to develop and operate the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex and promote amateur soccer in Hampton Roads, was conceived in 1991 by leaders of the Virginia Beach Soccer Club, Atlantic Soccer Club and Beach FC. Youth soccer was growing at an exponential rate and the municipalities were not able to provide the necessary fields to meet the demand from the community.
