Phil Warren, with an assist from a timely rain shower, ended a year-long dry spell at Langley Speedway Saturday.
Warren, a five-time champion at the track, was declared the winner when the scheduled 100-lap Late Model Stock feature was stopped because of rain after 52 laps, two past the halfway mark.
``I don't know if we could have made it another 48 laps or not, but it doesn't matter now,'' Warren said as the rain continued to fall.
Actually, it looked as if Warren, who failed to win a race last season, was headed for Victory Lane with or without the rain, which had been expected since late afternoon.
