GENERATIONS OF American children have laid in bed, wide-eyed, after being warned that if they weren't good, the bogeyman would get them.
But for children in Iceland - home of the International Azalea Festival's 47th queen, Iris Huld Halldorsdottir - it's not the bogeyman that captures their imagination. Instead, it's trolls and elves and fairies.
In this island nation situated in the North Atlantic between Europe and North America, the stories of little - and not so little - folk are an integral part of Icelandic culture. And, while grown-ups describe the tales as children's stories, there are also some adults who believe them as well.
