You can learn about both today in lectures offered at the Newport Flower Show in Newport, R.I.
Although the fifth annual flower show is held at Rosecliff, a 1902 mansion memorable for its sweeping lawns and opulent interior, proceeds from the show will benefit the restoration of the sunken garden at another Newport mansion, The Elms. Both properties are owned and maintained by the Newport Preservation Society.
